AMY WADGE

Amy has been busy this year after her wonderful writing collaboration with Ed Sheeran, she hasn't stopped, (& neither has he!). Amy has gone on to recently song writing with Geri Halliwell,
who sang our Amy's praises in her blog.

Founder & Creative Director of CW13,
Cheryl Beer, is particularly excited
to welcome Amy back.

Whilst  a student at Welsh College of Music & Drama, Amy performed her first solo gig as a singer songwriter  at Cheryl's first Women's Voices event at Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff, more years ago than either of them care to remember! lol!

'Amy has become an amazing performer: one of the best. I think her journey is an inspiration for everyone at the festival. We are primarily a platform for Welsh based women performers & Amy's award winning success, as well as her ability to personally capture the audience
  is a shining light.

She has a young family & manages to combine being a mother with being a remarkably warm, gifted singer/songwriter/musician.

Thank you Amy for continuing to support
Celtic Womenfest.
After her overwhelmingly moving set last year,
we simply can not wait to have her back!'

3.20pm: Pat Smith

Multi instrumentalist, Pat is renowned for her spoon playing in almost every folk festival you can think of! We are so chuffed she is coming to CW13 this year to show us how it's done!
Spoons provided!

 3.35pm: Anne Lister

We are so excited to welcome back Anne after a fabulous response to her wonderful songs at last year's festival.

Sarah has been a festival volunteer for over a year now. She and her mother Dawn, help out behind the scenes over the weekend, and Sarah helps out with admin where she can. This year, I have asked her to take the stage for an hour, bringing back for us the amazing voice that is Jemma Krysa, as her guest.

5.10pm

End Poem
Our festival friend Bríd Wyldearth is unable to close the festival for us this year, but she has kindly agreed for me to read one of her poems Slow Dance which recently appeared on BBC 3's Britain in a Day and is one of my favourite poems, especially when Bríd performs it! I will do my best to share it with you as we close the festival for another year.

We will be hanging our lovely hands held across festivals banner, our 'Goddess' made by Carol Lovekin for Women in Tune Festival and kindly lent to us again this year. Thanks Carol.

And don't forget that our Knitting Rhythms Table will be open again today, or sew Blodeuwedd's Flower Cloak with Sam Collins

Thanks a million

Thank you Suzanne Hughes Owen for very kindly offering to pick up Grainne Hunt from Pembroke for her stay here and making it possible for us to welcome an Irish guest to our festival ...

Irish Guest at CW13 Grainne Hunt

I am so pleased to tell ya that we have managed to arrange for the wonderful Grainne Hunt to come and perform for us at Celtic Womenfest!

I met her at the Gealach Gorm Festival organised by Anthony & Angela Mulcahy, near Waterford. Grainne was backing vocalist with the amazing Mark Geary and her voice is likely one of the most beautiful I think I have ever heard!

She has very kindly pulled out all the stops to come and join us on Sunday 25th August as part of our 2 day festival.

Suzanne Hughes Owen has very kindly offered to look after Grainne while she is here, putting her up in Llandysul ...

All we need now is for another kind person to offer TRANSPORT and pick up Grainne & her accompanist from Pembroke dock.

If you think you can help us with this, please email Creative Director of the Festival
